Echo Chamber 04:02
Brick by brick build up the wall Closed off your open mind, how? You’re right but no one is wrong Hypocrisy without grace Follow where you have been led Can’t tell where you and they split Deep inside your echo chamber Safe from danger Safe from what you fear No trigger warning No way out of here Click by click set up to fall Hordes gather at the gates now Truth was out there all along Fiction’s fact, got to save face Puke up what you have been fed Face the facts: you’re full of shit Deep inside your echo chamber Safe from danger Safe from what you fear No trigger warning No way out of here Trapped inside your echo chamber Safe from danger Safe from what you fear No trigger warning No way out of here Echo chamber There’s no danger It’s nothing but your fear Tomorrow morning One way out of here

Oceans of ink Beaches of gold Tides wash away the heart that grows cold Slipping like sand Safe in my shell Desperate to break free from this Hell Gasping for air Clawing my chest Being nothing and longing for rest Deep in the night High in the sky No one is there to hear my cry Waves pull me down Icy abyss Too late: no escaping this Specters cast a sidelong glance At my death, my romance In my darkest dream My darkest dream Nowhere to turn No one to fight Filled with rage against the light Nowhere to run Nowhere to hide Nowhere to go when hope has died Deafening roar Blood in my veins Tempest sky of lash and chain Opening wound A festering sore Feels like the end; I can’t take any more Frozen with fear No way out Darkening clouds and shadows of doubt Angelic face Promise I make A demon’s heart I will not forsake She’s my hope, my salvation Shakes me free from the damnation Of my darkest dream Awake and arise Night turns to day My darkest dream she’s taken away My darkest dream

Fallen in love, though you’ve just met Fuck so hard you run out of sweat Dance and drink the night away Tomorrow night do it again Long black hair and a short black dress Love the style, don’t care to impress Morning comes and she’s not there Was it a dream or just a nightmare? Where did that wild girl go? Why did that fearless female flee? Was it something that I said? Left me there on bended knee Chase the girl; you’re not too proud Vultures circling all around Who’d’ve thought they’d be so bold? Scavenge the meat before it grows cold Scream inside grows so loud Can’t pick her out of a crowd Face becomes a memory Until one day it fades away Is there another wild girl? One that can’t be tamed? Lifetime search for another one I shouldn’t be ashamed Didn’t fall in love – no, not yet Fought real hard? Yeah, you bet Short red hair and a long white dress Nothing more than second best Smiling face the rest of my days But at night, dream of the wild girl

Can’t write the things I need to say What’s the point anyway? Time doesn't heal our wounds Just some shrapnel in our hearts Never forgive, never forget Leaving you with my regret River run below the ridge Too much water, not enough bridge Used to say live and let die Lord knows I tried and tried and tried Took your guilt as my own Sun is setting and it’s so cold Once upon a time we had A lifetime to grind my dreams to dust Stood by as I went mad There’s nothing left for me to save Never forgive, never forget Leaving you with my regret River run below the ridge Too much water, not enough bridge Never forget, never forgive Don’t have much time to live Been driven to the edge Won’t be pushed off that ledge

about

Peter Jennings Disciples return with their sophomore EP, Bad News. Further refining their "alternadustrial" sound, Bad News explores dreams and nightmares, forgiveness and damnation, through dark electronic and industrial rock themes: wailing bagpipes and fragile synths on "Not Enough Bridge" contrast with pounding beats and heavy guitars on "Wild Girl (Slug Mix)."
